Copy Etsy listings to another shop
Etsy’s Copy button duplicates a listing inside the same shop. There is nothing for moving listings to a second shop, so sellers who split a shop or open a new one retype every listing. With SpeedList both shops connect to one account, and a copy takes a few clicks.
How it works
- 1Connect the first shop and sync it. Its listings come in with photos, variations, tags and everything else.
- 2Select the listings and choose Copy. The copies land in Studio as drafts, with no Etsy identity and no shop.
- 3Switch to the second shop in the sidebar. Connect it first if you have not; several shops is a Pro feature.
- 4Set what belongs to a shop in one bulk edit: the shipping profile, the section and the return policy. They are matched by name, and the second shop has its own.
- 5Publish from Studio, as drafts to check a few on Etsy first, or live. The listings are created in the second shop through the Etsy API.
What is copied
- Title, description, tags, materials, category and attributes.
- Photos and video. They are uploaded again to the new listing.
- Price, quantity, SKU, and the full variation grid with per-option prices, quantities and SKUs.
- Personalization, processing time, weight and size, renewal setting, who made it and when.
What is not
The listing ID, its reviews, favourites and views, and its listing fee. A copy is a new listing in the second shop, so Etsy charges its $0.20 fee when it goes live, and its history starts at zero. The original stays in the first shop until you deactivate or delete it there.
Moving rather than copying
Etsy cannot transfer a listing, so a move is a copy followed by deactivating the original. Publish the copies as drafts, check them on Etsy, activate them, then deactivate the originals in the first shop. Reviews stay with the shop that earned them.
Etsy’s rules on more than one shop
Etsy allows a seller to run several shops. It asks that each shop is listed in your public profile and that the shops are not duplicates of each other: two shops selling the same items to appear twice in search is against Etsy’s policy. Copying is for the honest cases, such as splitting a shop by product line, moving a line to a new brand, or starting a second shop in a different niche.
Copying inside one shop
The same Copy makes duplicates in the current shop: a new colourway, a variant of a design, a listing to relist with new photos. Copies are editable in Studio before they publish, and a template can change the category, shipping or variations on all of them at once.
Questions
- Do I need two Etsy accounts?
- Etsy allows one shop per account, so a second shop has its own Etsy sign-in. Both shops can be connected to the same SpeedList account on Pro.
- Do the variations copy?
- Yes. If a listing’s variations were never opened since the sync, SpeedList asks you to open it or sync once, so the copy has the full grid.
- Can I copy to a shop that is not connected yet?
- Copy first, connect the shop, switch to it, publish. The copies wait in Studio.
