How to change prices on many Etsy listings at once
A price change across a shop happens a few times a year: a supplier raises costs, fees change, a season ends. Etsy’s bulk editor handles the simple case. For rounding, variations and a look at the result before it is live, you need a tool that syncs the shop.
Option 1: Etsy’s Shop Manager
- 1Open Shop Manager, then Listings.
- 2Tick the listings to change, or use the filters and select all.
- 3Open Editing options and choose the price change: set a price, or increase or decrease by an amount or a percent.
- 4Apply. The change is live as soon as it saves.
Open a few listings with variations afterwards and check that the per-option prices came out as you expect. There is no preview, so the check happens on the live listing.
Option 2: a syncing editor
- 1Connect the shop and sync. Prices, variations and the shop currency come in from Etsy.
- 2Filter and select: a section, a tag, a word in the title, or everything.
- 3Choose Price: set a price, or increase or decrease by an amount or a percent, and pick rounding to .99, .95 or .00.
- 4Read the result. Every listing shows its new price next to the old one, including each variation option.
- 5Publish. The change goes to Etsy through the API as one batch.
Variations
A percent or amount change applies to every variation option as well as the listing price, so a shirt at 24.99 in small and 26.99 in 2XL keeps its spread. Set applies the same price to all options. A listing with no price of its own takes the lowest option price, the way Etsy shows it.
Rounding
A 10% rise on 24.99 gives 27.489. Rounding to .99, .95 or .00 turns every result back into a price that reads like one. Pick the ending your shop already uses so the catalogue stays consistent.
Sales are a different tool
For a temporary sale, use Etsy’s Sales and discounts under Marketing. It shows buyers the crossed-out price, ends on a date, and leaves the listings untouched. Bulk price changes are for the new normal: costs, fees and positioning.
Things to know
- Changing a price does not renew the listing and costs no fee.
- Prices are in your shop’s currency. Etsy converts them for buyers elsewhere.
- Digital listings change the same way as physical ones.
- Keep a record of the old prices. An export to CSV before the change is the simplest one.
Questions
- Can I raise prices by a percent on Etsy?
- Yes, in Shop Manager’s editing options, or in SpeedList with rounding and the result shown before it publishes.
- Will a price change affect my search ranking?
- A price edit itself does not renew or reset a listing. Watch views and orders for two weeks after a change, and keep shipping costs where they were, since Etsy treats those separately.
- Can I undo it?
- Run the opposite change, or import the CSV you exported before. In SpeedList, a listing can be put back to its Etsy version at any point before it publishes.
