How to change shipping profiles on many Etsy listings at once

Shipping profiles are set per listing, so a new rate, a new carrier or free shipping on part of the shop means touching every listing it applies to. Here is the fast way on Etsy itself, and the way that also fixes processing time, weight and size in the same pass.

What a shipping profile is

A shipping profile is a saved set of shipping options: where you ship from, which countries you ship to, the costs and the carriers. It lives in your shop, not in the listing, and each physical listing points at one. Digital listings have none. Processing time is set separately, through processing profiles.

Option 1: Etsy’s Shop Manager

  1. 1Create or edit the profile first, under Settings, then Shipping settings.
  2. 2Open Listings, select the listings, and open Editing options.
  3. 3Choose the shipping profile change, pick the profile, apply.

Option 2: a syncing editor

  1. 1Connect the shop and sync. Your profiles come in by name, with the listings that use them.
  2. 2Filter and select the listings: a section, a tag, a word in the title, or every physical listing.
  3. 3Choose Shipping profile and pick the new one. In the same pass you can set the processing profile or processing time, the return policy, and weight and size.
  4. 4Check the result on each listing, then publish. The change reaches Etsy as one batch.

Common reasons to do it

  • A carrier rate change: make a new profile with the new costs, move the listings, delete the old profile.
  • Free shipping on part of the catalogue: a free profile for the listings whose price covers it.
  • Shipping from a new place or to new countries.
  • A batch of new listings, imported or generated, that all need the same profile before they publish.
  • A second shop: profiles belong to a shop, so copies published there need one of its own profiles.

Things to know

  • Changing the profile does not renew the listing and costs nothing.
  • A listing without a profile cannot go live. SpeedList shows it as an issue before you publish.
  • Profiles are matched by name when you import a CSV or copy listings between shops.
  • Weight and size on the listing feed calculated shipping, so set them in the same bulk edit if the profile uses carrier rates.

Questions

Can SpeedList create a shipping profile?
Not yet. Create it on Etsy, sync, and assign it in bulk.
Does a new profile change my processing time?
No. Processing time is its own setting. Change it in the same bulk edit if it should move too.
What about listings with variations?
The shipping profile is per listing, not per option, so it changes the same way.
