Is the CSV upload really free?

Yes. It is part of the Free plan. Etsy’s listing fee still applies when a listing goes live: $0.20 each, the same as listing by hand.

Does the import create the listings on Etsy right away?

No. Rows become listings in SpeedList first. Nothing reaches Etsy until you publish, and you choose drafts or live.

Is there a row limit?

The import reads as many rows as your file holds, and publishing runs as a background job at the rate Etsy allows. The Free plan has fair-use limits on how much activity an account can do in a month; paid plans do not.

Can I import the CSV Etsy lets me download?

Yes. Map its columns in the mapping step. Etsy’s export is a copy of your listings, so this is one way to bring a shop’s listings into Studio and publish them again, in the same shop or another one.

Upload Etsy listings from a CSV, free

Etsy has no CSV upload of its own. SpeedList imports your spreadsheet, matches the columns to listing fields, and turns each row into a listing you can review, edit and publish in bulk. The import, the editor and publishing are included in the Free plan.

How the import works

1Drop or browse a CSV file.
2Review the column mapping. Columns are matched automatically by name (Title, Description, Tags, Price, Quantity, SKU, Photo 1 to Photo 10, and so on) and you can change any match or skip a column.
3The rows land in Studio, or in the project you are importing into, as listings.
4Fix anything with bulk edit, generate what is missing, and publish.

Start from the template

The template has the column names the import reads, with example rows: a T-shirt with size variations and a digital download. Delete the examples, keep the header row, add your products. Exports from SpeedList use the same layout, so a file can go out, be edited in a spreadsheet, and come back.

The columns

Listing: Title, Description, Category, Tags (comma separated, up to 13), Materials, Section, Price, Quantity, SKU.
Details: Who made it? (I did, A member of my shop, Another company or person), What is it? (A finished product, A supply or tool), When was it made? (Made to order, 2020 - 2026, and so on), Renewal options (Automatic or Manual), Product type (Physical or Digital), Production partners, Styles.
Variations: Variation 1 and V1 Option, Variation 2 and V2 Option, with Var Price, Var Quantity, Var SKU, Var Visibility and Var Photo. One row per option, under the listing’s own row.
Shipping: Shipping profile and Return policy by name, Weight, Length, Width, Height.
Media: Photo 1 to Photo 10 as web links (add columns up to Photo 20 if you need them), Video 1, and Digital file 1 to 5 for downloads.

What to put in the file

One row per listing, with a header row of column names.
Tags separated by commas in one cell, up to 13, each 20 characters or fewer. Materials the same way.
Photos as web links, one per column, in the order you want them on the listing. Up to 20 photos and one video.
Prices and quantities as plain numbers, in your shop’s currency.
Category, section, shipping profile and return policy by name, as they appear in your shop. Anything that does not match is left for you to pick in the editor or set in bulk.
Variations as extra rows under the listing’s row, with the Title cell empty: Variation 1 and its option, Variation 2 and its option, and the option’s price, quantity and SKU.

Filling the gaps

Rows with photos but no title or tags are fine: generate them after import. The generator writes the title, 13 tags, the description and attributes from the photo, and bulk edit applies sections, shipping profiles and pricing to the whole batch.

Coming from Etsy, Shopify or another platform

Etsy’s own listing export, a Shopify, Squarespace or WooCommerce export, or a sheet of your own all work the same way: the mapping step is where the column names from another system become Etsy fields, and columns you do not need are skipped. A Listing ID column is read but never kept, so an import always creates new listings and never overwrites a live one.

What it costs

Nothing. CSV import, CSV export, the editor and publishing are in every plan, including Free. Generations, which write titles, tags and descriptions, are counted per plan: 10 a month on Free, 300 on Starter, 4,000 on Pro. The Free plan is for trying SpeedList on your own shop, so it has fair-use limits on activity; paid plans have no activity caps.
